Teaching Philosophy

Kirsten believes in arming singers with both a holistic and physiological approach to their singing. She encourages concrete concepts like anatomy and muscular interactions to produce free vocal function. Kirsten promotes healthy vocal habits by addressing practices that involve the whole person, not just the voice (body, mind, emotion, and spirit). Most important to her is to strive to provide a safe haven for vocal exploration, growth, and expression.
