Kirsten Chambers is most known for her portrayal of the title role of “Salome,” which she performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Hong Kong, Florida Grand Opera, and most recently at San Diego Opera. She made her Carnegie Hall debut singing Maria in Strauss’ “Friedenstag” with the American Symphony Orchestra. At the Metropolitan Opera, she covered leading and supporting roles, including Isolde in “Tristan und Isolde,” Marie in “Wozzeck,” and Helmwige in “Die Walküre.” Internationally, she debuted as Elsa in “Lohengrin” at the Savonlinna Opera Festival, reprising the role at the Hong Kong Arts Festival and Opéra de Rennes.

Favorite opera engagements include the Angel in “Angels in America” for New York City Opera. Ms. Chambers performed the title role in Strauss’ “Die ägyptische Helena,” Infantin in “Der Zwerg," and Mrs. Poe in “The Voyage of Edgar Allen Poe” with Odyssey Opera. She sang the Foreign Princess in “Rusalka” at the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Wichita Grand Opera. Performed Leonore in “Fidelio” with St. Petersburg Opera and New Amsterdam Opera, the title role of “Tosca”with Opera Florham, Opera Saratoga, and Martha Cardona Opera, where she also performed Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana.” At Indianapolis Opera she performed Donna Anna in “Don Giovanni” and with Opera Orlando Marchesa del Poggio in “Un giorno di regno.” She covered the title role of “Turandot” with Arizona Opera and the title role in “Ariadne auf Naxos” at Toledo Opera. Her NYC debut was singing Nedda in “Pagliacci” with the Bronx Opera.

International concert engagements include appearing as a featured soloist in excerpts from “Lohengrin” with the Oulu Symphony in both Oulu and Helsinki and later at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg in concerts for Savonlinna Opera Festival. She performed Isolde’s Liebestod from “Tristan und Isolde” with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Favorite regional concerts include “Erwartung” with The Orchestra Now, the title role of “Loreley” by Catalani for Teatro Grattacielo, and Brünnhilde’s Entrance from “Die Walküre” with Orchestra Kentucky.

​A champion of new music, she has recorded on the Newport Classics label, appeared with American Lyric Theater, and American Opera Projects, created a new opera with White Snake Projects, and a feature opera film “Freydis and Gudrid,” available for purchase on Amazon.
